Motor hold-down spring for Beam central vacuum power units, part 545117, sold individually. The springs pull the motor down onto its mounts so it runs seated and centred inside the canister — a typical unit uses three of them.
A spring that has stretched or come unhooked lets the motor lift and move on its mounts. The unit gets loud, you hear vibration carried through the wall or the pipework, and the motor's own bearings take the load of running out of line. Because the three springs share the job, one weak spring throws the other two out too.
It fits the Beam CV-1800, CV107G and CV1601. Order the quantity your unit needs — replacing all three at once is the only way to get even tension — and hook each one onto its anchor so the motor sits level with no play.
