Part C669-0400 is the small latch that holds the motor housing shut on the Riccar R60, the Simplicity S60 and the Fuller Brush FB-SPFM.2 broom vacuum. It is the molded catch you press to open the housing for service, and it is the piece that snaps first because it is thin plastic under spring load.
A broken latch does not stop the machine, but it leaves the housing loose. Loose housings rattle, lose the seal at the joint and let the motor shift under load, so replacing an inexpensive catch is worth doing as soon as it fails.
