This stand-alone mounting kit, part HS300053, is a two piece rough-in box that lets a Hide A Hose HS3000 or HS4000 trim kit go in where there is no wall cavity to put it in. Cabinets, closets and exterior walls are the usual places it ends up.
It mounts vertically or horizontally, so the box follows whatever the space allows rather than dictating the layout. The arrangement it was built for is exposed piping, the kind of install found in a garage, a workshop or a commercial space, where the retractable hose assembly sits on the wall surface instead of hiding inside it.
The trim kit is a separate purchase. This kit supplies the box and its mounting, not the finished valve face, so plan both parts of the order together when starting an installation from nothing. The box comes in two parts so it can be set into a cabinet wall or fastened to a finished surface without cutting a stud bay open.
Check depth and clearance in the cabinet or closet before ordering. The hose needs somewhere to travel behind the box, and the piping run has to reach the position you have chosen for it. Hose length matters here as well, since a longer hose needs more room behind the box.
