B351-7814 is the molded socket, finished in black, that the neck pivots inside on Riccar's full size power nozzle, shortened to FSPN in parts listings. Every time the head gets steered around furniture or folded flat to slide underneath it, this socket absorbs that leverage.
Once the socket cracks or wears past its original diameter at the pivot point, the whole neck develops slop, and that slop soon reaches the wiring and the air seal sharing the same joint. Catching a worn base early costs less than letting the looseness spread to those neighboring parts.
