A suction-only hose for the Rainbow, part R8052: no wiring in it, no switch on the handle, nothing to fail electrically. It fits the E, the E2 Type 12 and the E-2 e-series, and it also carries the numbers R9546 and R9546K.
This is the hose to own if you use the machine mostly with hand tools rather than the power nozzle, and it is the sensible replacement when an electric hose has failed at the wire but the nozzle is not what you reach for anyway. It can also be used for wet pickup with an AquaMate shampoo system.
Look for splits along the corrugations and at both cuffs when suction seems weak, since a hose can leak badly through a crack you cannot see until it is stretched out straight. Rainbow lists it for the E one-speed, E2 one-speed and E2 two-speed machines.
