This nozzle housing, part KC01ADKJZRU3, is the molded body of the floor head on the Kenmore uprights 116.31100900, 116.31100901 and 116.31100903. Everything in the cleaning head — brush roll, belt, bearings, air path — either mounts to it or passes through it.
Housings crack where they are thinnest and where they get hit: around the front lip, at the wheel mounts, and along the neck where the head pivots. A crack in the housing is an air leak in the one place a vacuum can least afford one, so the machine loses pickup at the floor while the motor sounds as strong as it ever did. A broken mount is worse, because it lets the brush roll sit out of square and that chews belts.
Take the model number off the data plate before ordering. Kenmore's numbers are long, and heads that look identical differ by a single digit.
