This NuTone temporary cover plate closes off a central vacuum inlet location during construction, remodeling, or whenever an outlet is roughed-in but not yet in service. It snaps over NuTone 360-series valve mounting plates to keep drywall dust, debris, and stray objects out of the in-wall tubing before the finished inlet valve is installed.
Using a temporary cover during the build protects the rough-in opening and keeps the wall looking neat until the permanent valve goes in. It is also handy for capping a deactivated or relocated inlet without leaving an open hole in the wall.
