Oreck Bag Gasket, Part 7201...

Product details

This gasket seals the joint where an Oreck vacuum's disposable dust bag connects to the machine. When that seal hardens, cracks, or goes missing, air and fine dust leak around the bag connection instead of routing through the bag, which shows up as dust settling around the bag housing and as softer suction at the floor even with a fresh bag fitted.

No published Oreck model list exists for this part beyond the cross-reference number, and the sealing shape is not identical on every Oreck machine, so compare the gasket you are removing against this one for outside shape, inside opening and thickness before ordering rather than assuming fit from the Oreck name alone. A hardened or torn gasket is a common and easy-to-miss reason an otherwise healthy Oreck starts losing suction, and it costs far less to rule out than a motor or a hose fault.

  • Component: Bag-to-housing gasket
  • Cross-reference: Replaces Oreck part 430001181

com is an authorized Oreck dealer. Part 72017-02 is a seal rather than a moving part, so it seats by hand once the old one is off and the mating surface has been wiped clean of caked dust. If the new gasket goes in and suction is still down, the next things to check are a full bag, a blocked hose and a worn belt.
