Bottom plate assembly for the Oreck Bigfoot, part 5006, listed for the Oreck 7227.

The bottom plate closes off the underside of the machine and shapes the path air takes on its way in. It is also the part that meets the floor, so it wears, and it is the first thing to crack if the machine has been dropped or dragged over a threshold. A split plate or a broken mounting boss lets the machine draw air through the gap instead of through the cleaning opening, and the suction you are missing at the nozzle is going out through that crack.

Fit the new plate to every mounting point so it sits flush, and check nothing rocks before you set the machine down and switch it on.
