This brush roll, part 87601-008-4590 (also listed as 876010084590), is built for the Oreck Halo 100 upright vacuum and carries black nylon bristles.
Nylon bristles hold their shape well but still flatten with sustained use, and a worn roll on the Halo 100 shows up as debris left behind on carpet that the machine used to pick up cleanly, especially pet hair and fine grit that need the bristles to actually flick it into the airflow rather than just pass over it. A roll with bald or matted patches along its length is generally past the point of just needing a good cleaning of tangled hair.
