Oreck Rear Spacer - DTX1300...

Product details
Toward the rear of the DTX1300 and DTX1400 canister body sits a small molded spacer, part 82051-02, whose job is to hold the correct spacing at the rear of the canister body. It is not a part most owners could name, let alone picture, until it is gone.
Plastic spacers like this one fail from accumulated impact rather than age: a canister set down a little too hard at the top of a staircase, a tumble out of a closet, years of being dragged around corners by its own hose. Once it cracks free, the rear of the housing loses its intended spacing, and the surrounding pieces start absorbing stress they were never designed to carry alone, which can turn one small broken part into a slowly worsening fit problem elsewhere on the machine. Left unaddressed long enough, that shifting load can crack a neighboring panel that would otherwise have lasted the life of the vacuum.
This spacer is made for the DTX1300 and DTX1400 specifically, and a spacer pulled from a different Oreck canister is not a safe substitute even if it looks close in photos. Matching the part number is the reliable way to get this right on the first try, rather than trial-fitting a part meant for a different chassis.
