Product details

Part 83045-01 is the main circuit board inside the Oreck LW100 Magnesium upright, wired into the path connecting the switch to the motor and governing how the machine reacts every time that switch is pressed. Everything about how the motor starts, runs and responds to the operator flows through this one board rather than through any purely mechanical linkage.

A failing board rarely quits outright on its first bad moment. More commonly the vacuum runs for a while, stalls without warning, then starts again with no obvious cause to point to. Other times power drops out whenever the cord gets nudged or the handle is jostled during use, or the machine goes completely silent on an outlet already tested and confirmed live, with a cord and a physical switch that both check out fine on inspection. That inconsistency, rather than a single decisive failure, is the pattern that separates a board issue from a problem elsewhere in the electrical path.

Because this is board-level work inside a mains-powered appliance, disconnect the machine from power and keep it that way for the entire repair, and hand the job to a service technician if there is any hesitation about tackling it directly. Photograph the position of every wire before lifting the old board free, since a lead reconnected to the wrong terminal can leave the new board performing no better than the failing one it replaced. Take the time to test each function of the machine once the new board is seated, before the housing goes back together for good, so any remaining wiring mistake is caught while everything is still easy to reach.
