This 35-foot, 3-wire power cord, part 75558-02-328, is built for the Oreck XL2070RH and XL2090RHM commercial uprights. Finished in red, it delivers wall current from the outlet to the switch and motor housed inside the machine.
Commercial duty is hard on a cord in a way home use rarely is. Being coiled and uncoiled dozens of times a shift flexes the insulation at the same two or three points every time, usually right where the cord leaves the molded plug and where it enters the vacuum body near the handle. That is where cracking shows up first, so it is worth checking those two spots specifically rather than eyeballing the cord's full length for damage.
A cord that scorches at the plug, feels noticeably warm along its run, or cuts power mid-pass has reached the point where replacing it is the only safe option; taping over a split in the jacket is not a fix, since a three-wire cord's ground path has to stay intact for the machine to be safe to touch. Once a cord shows any of those signs, plan on a swap rather than trying to nurse it through another shift.
