On the Panasonic MC-UG787 OptiFlow, the nozzle latch is what holds the cleaning head locked to the body. Part AC08DDBVZV07 is the replacement, and it is worked every time the machine is reclined, stood up or set down.

The plastic catch is what gives out. It wears round, then chips, and eventually the nozzle no longer clicks home — it sits loose, tips forward as you lift the machine, or releases on its own mid-clean. Because the nozzle joint is an airway joint as well, a latch that cannot pull the two halves together leaves a gap that bleeds suction while everything still sounds normal.

Fit the new latch, then check it snaps positively and holds against a firm pull before putting the machine back into service.
