Product details
Part SV8001 sets a wall inlet location during framing, before drywall covers the stud bay, so the future inlet valve has a properly positioned, structurally solid point to mount to. It is compatible with Plastiflex 0650.
Framing stage is the cheap stage. Get the plate positioned at the wrong height or off the stud line now and it is a five-minute correction; catch the same mistake after the walls are finished and it means cutting drywall open again. The plate also squares up the piping connection behind it, which keeps the tubing run aligned as the rest of the system goes in around it.
Every fitting downstream depends on a sealed joint here just as much as anywhere else in the network: solvent-weld the plate to the system's PVC pipe so the connection holds air the way the rest of the run does, since one leak point here undercuts suction at the finished inlet no matter how well everything else is installed. Confirm the plate matches Plastiflex 0650 before framing around it.
Mark the plate's location on the framing before insulation goes in, and photograph the rough piping layout for reference. Once drywall covers the stud bay, the mounting plate becomes the only visible clue to where the inlet valve needs to land, and a missing record is the most common reason a finish crew ends up guessing at placement.
