This union mix polish brush, part 237-048, is Oreck's natural fiber brush for the Orbiter floor machine. Oreck lists it for use with both the Oreck Orbiter and the Orbiter Ultra.
Oreck positions it as the polishing and light scrubbing brush rather than a stripping tool, and names marble, stone and tile as the floors it is most often chosen for. On hardwood the natural fiber works down into the cracks between boards, where a stiffer synthetic pad tends to ride over the top. It can also be run alongside ceramic and stone floor cleaners when a floor needs scrubbing as well as polishing.
Check the bristles regularly for wear and for finish buildup at the base, since matted or gummed bristles stop distributing polish evenly and start streaking the floor instead. A brush loaded with dried finish also tends to feel stiffer across the whole face rather than just at the tips, which is a useful sign it needs cleaning before it needs replacing.
Rinse or brush out debris between uses rather than letting it dry into the bristle base, and let the brush dry fully before storing it, since natural fiber packed away damp mats down faster than fiber left to air out.
