Cracked shells are common on cleaning heads that have been dropped down a flight of stairs or wedged under a radiator, and once the cover splits there is dust in the drive and nothing holding the top of the head square. Part 2482SW is the complete black cover for the SEBO ET-C power head.
This is the full upper molding rather than a patch panel, so the housing closes properly again on the first attempt and the belt, pulley and internal wiring are sealed away from the grit the head is picking up. The cover also takes the impacts: every baseboard, chair leg and door frame the machine meets lands on this part before it reaches anything else, which is why the corners and the fixing bosses are where failures start. A shell that no longer pulls down flush lets the housing flex under the push stroke, and that movement travels into the belt path and the switch gear underneath.
Color matters when ordering, because SEBO lists the same cover in other finishes under different numbers, so quote 2482SW for the black version. With the head open, it is worth checking the parts the cover was protecting: the brush roller pulley is 2458, the inner roller bearing is 2467, and the switch lever and its support are 2452 and 2453.
