Height adjustment wheel with overmold for power nozzles, part B350-3942. The wheel is what the operator turns to raise or lower the nozzle for different carpet piles, and the softer overmoulded surface gives fingers something to grip so the setting can be changed without slipping.
Once the overmould peels away or the wheel splits at the hub, the adjustment either spins uselessly or jams at one height. Neither is workable: the nozzle needs to sit at the right height for the brush roll to reach the carpet without stalling on it.
