    Replacement recovery tank in the 15 gallon size for Powr-Flite carpet extractors, part X1961BLU. Everything the machine lifts out of the carpet ends up here, which is why the recovery side wears out faster than the solution side on any extractor.

    A recovery tank has to hold vacuum as well as water. Once a shell is cracked, a lid seat is distorted or a fitting boss has torn, the machine pulls air through the fault instead of through the wand, and pickup falls away while the vacuum motor still sounds healthy. That is the point at which a tank gets swapped rather than patched.
