    Bulkhead nut from Powr-Flite, part X1963. A bulkhead fitting passes a line through a tank wall and is clamped in place by a nut on the opposite face. This is that nut, sold on its own for the common case where the fitting itself is sound but the nut has been cross-threaded, cracked or lost during a strip-down.

    Torque is what makes a bulkhead seal, and a damaged nut cannot deliver it evenly. The usual result is a joint that stays dry until the tank is full and then weeps down the outside of the machine. The matching fitting is listed separately as part x1942 if the through-wall body needs renewing at the same time.
