Part PS905 is the dust filter Powr-Flite lists for the PS900 sweeper and for the battery-driven PS900BC built on it. The filter is what makes that machine's dust-controlled, 65 dB sweeping possible: air is drawn through the debris chamber and fine material is held in the media rather than leaving behind the machine.
Powr-Flite's own instruction is to clean it after every use, before emptying the dirt collector rather than after. A small knob sits on top of the filter near the collector handle, and working it back and forth runs a vibrating mechanism that shakes dirt out from between the lamellas so it drops straight into the collector below. Stubborn dirt comes off with a brush, or by lifting the filter out and tapping it.
Replacement time is when that routine stops restoring performance. Sand, fine grit and gypsum dust pack the media well before the collector looks full, and once a filter has taken a set the shaker only buys a pass or two. The symptom usually shows on the floor first, as dust escaping around the machine or a haze trailing a pass that used to come up clean.
