Friction fit is the most common connection on commercial canister and backpack vacuums: the wand slides into the hose cuff and is held by taper alone, with no button, lock ring or electrical pins involved. Any hose and any tool built to the standard 1-1/4 in. friction-fit size will mate with it, which makes this a straightforward replacement for a wand that has been bent, cracked or lost. Measure the outside diameter of your existing hose cuff before ordering, since 1-1/2 in. machines use a different size.
