A small plastic clasp does an outsized job on the ProTeam Super Coach Pro, also cataloged for the 1073110 and 1073120: it pulls the two shoulder straps of the sternum strap together, holding the whole harness centered instead of letting it slide outward. Part 510191 replaces that clasp, which gets clicked shut and popped open every single time the pack goes on or comes off, dozens of cycles across one shift alone.
Plastic fatigues under that kind of repetition. With enough daily cycles the tab that locks the buckle shut eventually cracks, or the latch wears to the point that it no longer grips firmly. Once that happens the connector will not stay latched, the load on the wearer's back rides unevenly from side to side, and fatigue sets in well ahead of when it normally would, since the entire purpose of this piece is keeping the shoulder straps drawn in under tension.
Swapping it takes only a couple of minutes because the new buckle clips onto the same webbing already threaded through the harness, with nothing to re-route.
