Board failures are frustrating precisely because the motor is usually innocent. The vacuum goes completely dead, or it runs for a while and cuts out, or it stops answering its own switch, and every mechanical check you can run comes back clean: the cord tests fine, the outlet is live, the motor spins freely when powered directly. Once the obvious causes are ruled out and the fault keeps coming back, the control board is almost always the actual culprit.

Intermittent faults are the harder version of this problem. A board that fails outright is at least easy to confirm; one that drops out only when the machine is warm, or only after it has run for twenty minutes, points to a board that is degrading rather than dead, and swapping it is often the only way to rule the electronics out for good rather than keep chasing symptoms that come and go.

Disconnect the machine from power completely before opening the panel, and handle the new board by its edges rather than the components, since boards are sensitive to static discharge from bare hands.
