The pulley assembly, ProTeam part 835685, belongs in the 15-inch nozzle of the ProGen commercial uprights and fits both the ProGen 15 and the ProGen 12. It is the part the drive belt runs on between the motor and the brush roll.
Pulleys wear where the belt sits. The groove goes shiny and then rounded, and once the profile has gone the belt no longer grips properly, so it slips under load, the brush roll slows on thick carpet, and belts start lasting weeks instead of months. Bearing wear is the other failure and that one you hear, as a rising whine or a rumble from the base that is there whether or not the machine is on carpet. If you are replacing belts far more often than you used to, inspect this pulley before fitting another one.
