Product details

The catch that holds the bag door shut on PV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights is sold as part D380-4000. It is a small mechanism that gets worked every single bag change, and the plastic eventually fatigues at the pivot.

Failure looks like one of three things: the cover pops open mid-clean, it sits proud along one edge, or it never clicks at all. Each of those breaks the seal around the bag chamber, which costs airflow at the floor head and lets fine dust puff out along the seam. Fitting a fresh catch is screwdriver work and brings back a positive click. If the release lever rather than the catch is what broke, the PV latch body (B380-0514B) and the machine's parts diagram will point you to the right number.
