This genuine OEM Rexair-Rainbow lower shell gasket (Part #R1795) seals the lower motor shell on the D-3. It sits between the shell halves so air is routed through the motor rather than escaping at the seam.

Over time a gasket compresses, cracks, or crumbles, and the resulting leak at the lower shell bleeds off suction before it reaches the tools. A poor seal also lets fine dust bypass filtration. Installing the correct gasket restores an airtight joint and the suction the machine is meant to produce.
