Product details
The manifold is the housing that carries the nozzle motor inside a Rainbow E2 power nozzle, and R12900 is its snap-in version, which retains the motor with tabs rather than screws so a swap goes faster than the older screw-together design allowed.
That snap-in fit is model-specific rather than universal. It is built for the Silver PN-2E power nozzle, serial numbers 7763130 and later; a motor still held in with screws belongs to an earlier manifold, and this one will not accept it.
The plastic tends to give out right where the motor sits, or at the pivot next to it, typically after the nozzle has been dropped or forced into a tight spot. Once cracked, that plastic lets the motor rock under load instead of sitting solid, and the rocking throws the drive belt off the brush roll, turning the nozzle noisy well before the motor itself gives out.
Because the manifold and the motor are sold as separate parts, check both before ordering: a cracked housing around a motor that still spins fine is a manifold-only repair, while a dead motor in an intact housing does not call for this part at all.
- Part: R12900
- Motor retention: snap tabs rather than screws
- Fits: Rainbow E2 PN-2E Silver (serial 7763130 and later), E2 Blue, E2 Gold, E2 Two Speed
- Symptom: a cracked motor mount lets the housing rock, throwing the belt and adding noise
- Before ordering: inspect the motor separately; only replace whichever piece has actually failed
