This genuine OEM Rexair-Rainbow slinger ring (Part #R1979B) fits the D-4 motor and also serves the D3 and D4SE. The ring rides on the motor shaft and flings debris and moisture away from the bearing area as the shaft spins.

A slinger ring that has cracked, hardened, or slipped out of position stops protecting the bearing, letting grit and moisture reach it and shorten its life. Worn bearings then lead to noise and, eventually, motor failure. Fitting the correct slinger ring restores that protective barrier on the shaft.
