The long handle bolt used on Riccar 4000 series uprights. Part A432-0505 has a 1/4-20 thread and a 2-1/2 in. shank, and it takes over from the older A432-0005 — order this current number if the superseded one is what appears on your parts diagram.
This bolt clamps the handle tube to the vacuum body. Machines that have had the handle off more than once often end up with a burred or bent original, and fitting a fresh bolt restores a solid, rattle-free joint at the pivot.
