B332-0014 is the strap that holds the power cord in place on Riccar and Simplicity vacuums. It anchors the cord where it enters the machine, so a hard pull is absorbed by the strap and the housing instead of travelling to the wiring inside.
Strain relief is one of those pieces nobody thinks about until it fails. Once the strap is broken or missing, every yank on the cord reaches the internal connection directly, and an intermittent machine or a nicked conductor tends to follow. It is worth fitting a fresh one during any teardown that already has the handle or body open.
