Left-hand pivot bracket for MV-platform Riccar and Simplicity upright vacuums, ordered as B470-2200. The bracket is the structural mount that carries the pivot: it fixes to the machine and holds the bushing in position so the joint keeps its alignment under load.
Brackets tend to crack rather than wear out, usually after a fall or years of the vacuum being levered around by the handle. Once one is broken the pivot loses its reference on that side, and no amount of new bushings will take the wobble out.
