The left-hand pivot bracket for PV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights, part B370-3200. The bracket anchors the pivot to the vacuum and locates the bushing, keeping the joint turning on a fixed axis rather than flexing under the weight of the machine.
Brackets absorb the load every time an upright is tipped back or steered around furniture, and a cracked one leaves that side of the pivot sloppy. Left and right are mirrored castings, so order the side you are actually replacing.
