Black left-hand pivot bushing, part B470-2000B, for MV-platform Riccar and Simplicity upright vacuums. The bushing lines the pivot so the joint turns against a replaceable bearing surface rather than grinding away at the housing around it.
These are wear items by design and they are cheap to renew. A pivot that has gone loose, noisy or stiff on one side is usually cured by fitting fresh bushings, and doing both sides at once keeps the joint even.
