The retro handle mount kit, part number D384-2300, is the service kit Riccar and Simplicity supply for the handle mount on PV-platform uprights. It is a retrofit: the kit lets a technician rebuild the mounting point on machines already in the field rather than replacing a larger body section.
The handle mount takes every bit of leverage the operator applies at the grip, so it is a common wear point on any upright that has been pushed hard for years. Play at the joint, a handle that leans off center, or a mount that no longer holds its screws are the symptoms that send a machine in for this repair.
