Part B351-1800 is a short natural-bristle brush strip built for the steel agitator used in Riccar and Simplicity power nozzles. It fits into a channel running the length of the agitator body, and it is this strip, not the roller shaft or its drive mechanism, that actually grooms the carpet pile as the roller turns.

Bristles splay and wear down long before the agitator body or its bearings give out. The symptom is a roller that spins freely yet no longer digs into pile or lifts embedded grit clear of it for the airflow to carry off, which reads like weak suction even when the motor is fine. A quick check is to run a finger across the bristle tips: worn ones feel blunt and uneven rather than sharp and springy.
