RTAPN.D is Riccar's deluxe tandem air power nozzle in the flat belt build, supplied for the Prima power team canisters.
Riccar lists it for models PRIMAP.TAD, PRIMAP.TAP and R50TAP. Those are the tandem air machines in the Prima range, so read the model badge on your canister before ordering, since Riccar's full size and premium nozzles carry separate part numbers and do not interchange with this one.
This nozzle carries its own drive motor and turns the brushroll independently of the canister, and that separation is what shows up on carpet. Agitation holds at full speed regardless of how much airflow the canister happens to be producing, so pile keeps getting combed even as a bag loads and suction tapers off. Tandem air is the name for the two motors working together, the nozzle's turning the brush while the canister's makes the suction that carries away whatever the brush lifts. On a straight suction head, agitation depends entirely on airflow, so pile combing falls away exactly when a machine most needs it.
When a nozzle stops turning while the canister still pulls normally, the belt is the first thing to look at rather than the vacuum itself. The two systems are largely independent, and hair or thread wound tight around the brushroll shaft will make a sound belt slip long before that belt wears out on its own. Cutting that wrap free with the machine unplugged, and checking the brushroll end caps while you are there, restores more nozzles than a new belt does. A power nozzle also runs quieter when the brushroll turns freely, so a change in the sound it makes is often the first warning that something has wound itself around the shaft.
