Stretch hoses split at the cuffs and along the corrugation after enough cycles of pulling out and recoiling, and a cracked hose bleeds off the suction the tools depend on even though the vacuum itself sounds normal. If the crevice tool or dusting brush on your Vibrance or Symmetry has stopped picking up, test the hose before assuming a motor fault.
