Revised height adjustment axle for Riccar uprights on the MV platform. The axle is the shaft the carpet-height mechanism pivots on, raising and lowering the nozzle so the brushroll sits at the right depth for plush carpet, low pile or a bare floor.
When it wears or shears, the setting drifts or stops holding, and the nozzle either scrubs hard into the carpet or floats above it and picks up nothing. This is the updated version of the part, so quote SKU B470-2500B rather than the superseded axle when ordering.
