Part number B016-0800 is the revised-design packing fitting supplied by Riccar as a service replacement. A packing fitting seats packing material at a joint so air stays inside the sealed path, and this one carries the modified profile that superseded the earlier tooling.
Because it is a genuine Riccar component rather than a generic substitute, the fitting drops into the location the factory intended without shimming or trimming. Anything that leaks along the airpath costs the motor suction it should be putting at the nozzle, so a hardened or cracked fitting is worth replacing rather than reusing it during a rebuild.
