B338-3100 is the power switch on Simplicity Wonder and Riccar Prima canister vacuums, mounted on top of the canister where a single press turns the machine on and another shuts it off. It takes daily wear on any vacuum used often.

A failing switch has a pattern: it turns mushy, sticks partway in, needs pressing twice to catch, or only responds when held at one particular angle. None of that improves with time, and a switch already failing internally can also arc. A switch that arcs, or that feels warm to the touch after normal use, is a safety concern and worth replacing promptly rather than keeping it in service.
