Replacement base plate assembly for Riccar R Series uprights, supplied in plastic and listed under part number D015-0100. Models called out for this plate are the Riccar 4508, 4512 and 4810.
The base plate is the panel across the bottom of the nozzle. It holds the brush roll in its housing and sets the gap between agitator and floor, so a plate that has been scraped thin, cracked at a screw boss or bowed from years of use will change how the machine grooms carpet and how it seals against the surface. It is also the part that has to come off whenever a belt or roll is changed, which is why the screw bosses are usually the first thing to fail.
