Genuine Riccar brush roll assembly, part number D012-1100, for the 20 series clean air uprights. Confirmed fitment covers the Riccar R20D.2 and its Simplicity twin, the S20D.2.
The brush roll is what does the agitation on a carpet pass: bristles flick soil out of the pile so airflow can carry it into the bag. When bristles wear flat, when the roll gets noisy, or when hair and thread wind the bearings tight, cleaning falls off even though suction at the hose still feels strong. Fitting a fresh assembly restores the machine's grooming and its pickup on carpet.
