Brushroll motor assembly for the Riccar R25 series uprights, part C603-1400, covering the R25S, R25D and R25P. On these machines the agitator is turned by its own motor instead of a belt off the suction motor, so a brushroll that has stopped spinning while suction stays strong points straight at this assembly.

Before condemning it, clear the roll of wrapped hair and check that it turns freely by hand. A jammed brush can trip the protection circuit and imitate a dead motor; the jam protection breaker for the R25S is listed as A603-3100.
