The secondary filter drawer is the black tray that carries the secondary filter on Riccar R25 Series uprights, covering the R25S, R25D and R25P. It slides into the body of the vacuum and holds the filter squarely in the airstream between the bag compartment and the motor.
Drawers usually break at the tabs when they are pulled out at an angle during a filter change. Once a drawer no longer latches it sits proud of the body, and air slips past the edge of the filter rather than going through it — which quietly costs you filtration and suction at the same time. This replacement restores a flush, positive fit.
