This black on/off switch, part B603-2600, is the genuine replacement for the Riccar R25S upright, the Standard model in the R25 range. It is the switch that makes and breaks power to the machine, mounted where the operator reaches it.

Switches wear mechanically and electrically. The tell-tale signs are a vacuum that needs the switch held or jiggled, one that shuts off on its own as the machine is pushed, or one that has simply gone dead with a known-good cord. Replacing the switch is a common bench repair on high-mileage machines.
