Secondary filter assembly filled with granulated charcoal, part C388-4800, for PV-platform uprights carrying the G9 and RADP designations — the Simplicity Synergy G9 and the Riccar Radiance RADP.
Granulated charcoal does a different job from pleated media. Rather than straining particles out of the air, the loose carbon adsorbs the compounds that carry smell, so pet, smoke and cooking odors are pulled out of the airstream instead of being blown back into the room. The unit drops into the secondary position between the bag compartment and the motor and comes as a complete assembly.
