This is the on-board holder for the 3-in-1 combination tool, part B390-6114, in the newer size. The holder is the molded clip that keeps the combination tool stowed on the machine so it travels with the vacuum instead of being left behind in another room.

Tacony revised the tool dimensions during production, so the older and newer clips are not interchangeable.
