Seal for the airpath back cover on MV coded Riccar and Simplicity uprights, part number B480-4200. The back cover closes the duct carrying debris from the nozzle up to the bag, and this seal is what keeps that duct airtight where the cover meets the body.
A flattened or missing seal here costs suction at the floor even though the motor still sounds strong, and can whistle under load. Replacing it is worth doing any time the back cover comes off to clear a clog, because an old seal rarely reseats as well the second time.
