Part B375-3400 is the aluminum drive pulley used on clamping-style agitators in PV-coded Riccar and Simplicity uprights. The belt wraps this pulley to spin the brushroll, so a pulley that has gone oval, lost its grip on the shaft, or worn a lip will show up as belt squeal, a belt that keeps walking off, or a brush that stalls under carpet load.
The clamping arrangement replaced the older press-on style, and a metal body stands up to belt heat better than plastic does. Rebuild the brushroll end as a set rather than one piece at a time:
- B375-3700 - end cap cover for the same clamping design, PV and MV
- B475-1800 - steel bearing cartridge, clamp design
- B388-2400C and B388-2500C - top and bottom acrylic felt seals
